Let’s talk about BeCozi Jumbo chenille yarn:

We created this yarn just a few years after introducing Chunky chenille yarn to the US knitting market in 2016. We wanted to have the yarn even thicker and fluffier than Chunky chenille and that’s how Jumbo chenille was born. 

Jumbo chenille yarn is about one inch thick while Chunky is about 2/3 of an inch thick. Jumbo is softer because of that and fluffier too. As it is so much thicker - there is less of it on the same 8 oz skein: only 15-16 yards (27-28 yards on Chunky chenille skein), so more of it is needed for the same size blanket made with Chunky chenille yarn.


According to a the US Yarn council, the biggest size yarn in the US is #7 and it’s BeCozi Chunky chenille yarn or any similar yarn sold in stores or online. Our Jumbo chenille yarn would be size 8 if the US Yarn council would change their Yarn size chart.

A reminder: we wrote in one of our previous newsletters that there is not any size 10 yarn: it is a misinformation created by one of Chinese companies selling their yarn on the US market.

Blanket made with Jumbo chenille yarn is super thick and soft, it’s like a cloud in your hands! Big blanket made with Jumbo chenille will be pretty heavy too - perfect for those who like weighted blankets.
