March 8th is known around the world as International Women's Day. Many countries have their own traditions on how they honor the women in their lives.
In Italy it is customary to gift women a bouquet of mimosas, a bright yellow flower that signifies spring and rebirth. While in Eastern Europe a small gift is expected to celebrate the occasion.
