While we were all recovering from the holidays and slowly getting used to writing an eight instead of a seven in the year field of our checks, Pantone announced its pick for the color that will be it this year.
Behold, the imaginative, inspiring and slightly mysterious Ultra Violet, aka a blue-purple that makes even an eighty year old man gasp in wonder. This color simply can't leave you bored or untouched - it demands you take a second look.
Whether Pantone spends months analyzing trends and researching home decor ideas we will never know. What we do know is that Pantone itself is a trend-setter, so don't be surprised if you see violet popping up everywhere around you, from the home decor isle at Macy's to a plastic bin at the Container Store.
We love trends, but we love violet even more.
Did you know that the purple colors are associated with royalty? Not to mention spirituality, passion and creativity?
Violets and purples are said to have relaxing qualities so decorating with these colors is sure to have you take a deep breath and settle in. Purple tones are balancing to the mind and the emotions, bringing everything into equilibrium.
Do we need to say more?
